How to Stake AEC Tokens
Staking your AEC is the best way to earn a share of the protocol's revenue. This guide will walk you through the process of staking your tokens in the AEC Token Staking pool, step by step.
Before you begin, make sure you have:
A compatible Web3 wallet (e.g., MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet) funded with some ETH for gas fees.
The AEC tokens you wish to stake in your wallet.
Step 1: Connect to the AetherCycle dApp
Navigate to the official AetherCycle staking dashboard (e.g., app.aethercycle.xyz). Click the "Connect Wallet" button, usually located in the top-right corner, and approve the connection in your wallet.
Step 2: Navigate to the AEC Staking Pool
Once connected, find the "Staking" section in the dApp. You will see several pools. Select the AEC Token Staking pool.
Step 3: Choose Your Staking Tier
This is the most important decision. AetherCycle rewards long-term commitment. The longer you lock your tokens, the higher your reward multiplier.
Flexible (1.0x Rewards): No lock period. You can withdraw at any time.
Monthly (1.1x Rewards): 30-day lock period.
Quarterly (1.3x Rewards): 90-day lock period.
Semi-Annual (1.6x Rewards): 180-day lock period.
Use the dropdown menu to select the tier that best fits your strategy. Your APY will update based on your selection.
Step 4: Approve & Stake Your AEC
Enter the Amount: Type the amount of AEC you wish to stake into the input field.
Approve: The first time you stake, you will need to approve the staking contract to spend your AEC. Click the "Approve" button and confirm the transaction in your wallet. This is a one-time transaction for this contract.
Stake: Once the approval is confirmed, the "Stake" button will become active. Click it, and confirm the final transaction in your wallet.
Once the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, you will see your staked balance appear in the dashboard. Congratulations, you are now earning a share of AetherCycle's protocol revenue!
Managing Your Position
Claiming Rewards: A "Claim" button will appear in your dashboard. You can claim your accumulated AEC rewards at any time without unstaking your principal.
Withdrawing: The "Withdraw" button will only become active after your chosen lock period has expired. If you are in the Flexible tier, you can withdraw at any time.
Upgrading Your Tier: If you wish to increase your commitment, you can use the "Upgrade Tier" function to move to a longer lock period and a higher reward multiplier without having to unstake and restake.
